CATHEDRAL IN THE SILENT CITY
During my stay in Malta, on my daily drive home to visit my dad, I passed this magnificent Cathedral on top of the hill.
The Cathedral in Mdina, dedicated to St Paul, was for about three hundred years the only large church on the island of Malta. The building, erected during the Norman period, suffered considerable damage through an earthquake on the 11th of January 1693; rebuilt by Lorenzo Gafà, it was dedicated on the 8th of October 1702.
