Austrian Stuff#1

I have thinking for a while that I should make a record in my journal about life in Austria, particularly cultural / traditional customs as well as some of the quirky things that are typically Austrian. We went for coffee and cake (which progressed to wine and nibbles) to some friends late this afternoon. They showed us the Windeltorte (Nappy Cake) they had made for a friend who had just had a baby. These are given to the parents and usually take the form of a cake made out of nappies like these. This one is in the form of a teddy bear and they have added some personal touches in gifts for the baby and the parents as well.
