Tribute
Today we visited the National Arboretum near Lichfield. This very large site has tributes to all the men and women who have lost their lives in service for their country. Some of the tributes are simple, others intricate but all are very moving. The visit certainly made us think deeply about conflict and the huge sacrifice that has been made. One particularly emotive tribute is to the men of the First World War who were shot for "cowardice" This memorial area was erected after the men were finally pardoned.
However I chose this shot from the main memorial for todays blip. The writing on the door says " Through this space a shaft of sunlight falls at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month"
