Wildly growing grapevines!

With the alternating rain and heat here in Bradenton, Florida our plants have been shooting up like wild lately. I was gone for a number of days and you can see how the grapevines growing on our pergola have gotten a little out of control. After I took this photo I went and trained them to go over the pergola instead of straight out! 

The grapevines were slower to get started this year I think because we had a dry spring. As soon as I began watering them they perked up and started growing. Last year at this time we had bunches of purple grapes growing in the same spot - see my blip for 1 year ago! I will add an extra photo of what is hiding under the leaves now (they are small & green!)
