Homeward bound

June 23rd turned out to be a very bad day for travelling. Flight controllers were on strike in France, and flash floods had caused transport chaos in London, so our first flight, from Ibiza to London City airport was over three hours late when it was permitted to take off. When we reached London, we had to get to Heathrow by taxi, and it was looking impossible that we could catch the last flight to Aberdeen. However, that flight was also going to be 3 hours late, so we arrived with plenty of time to spare. It was nearer 4 hours late by the time we took off, though, and at 2 am, there was a long wait for taxis at Aberdeen airport. However, we did eventually get home, grateful that we'd not had to stay overnight in London.
Thank you for all your comments, stars and hearts when we were away; I apologise for the lack of commenting.  I'm hoping to catch up in the next few days.
