Domestic bliss

Spent 2 hours cleaning the house this morning, mostly focussed on the guest bedroom (as Blipped).

This is a severe shock to my system. For various reasons (including, but not limited to, being a single parent, self employed & with a demented mother's welfare to deal with) I outsource much of the domestic drudge.

The Teenager now helps a bit - washing up, his own laundry, cutting the grass & assorted fetching & carrying. But still, he expects to be fed & watered.

The reasons for this sudden change in routine?

First, the cleaner awarded herself most of July as holiday. Second, I have a houseguest arriving today. A German student who's doing some work experience in town while honing her language skills. A friend's cousin's daughter. Blood is thicker than water in Bavaria.
