Peanut Standoff

I seem to be on a Steller's Jay kick lately. Today it was because I didn't have time to look elsewhere for a photo. And lately quiet time on the deck right after Arvin gets home is working well for both of us. He is usually pretty exhausted when he gets home, especially by Friday afternoon. So we sat quietly while I gave the jays peanuts and took lots of photos. I almost blipped the chickadee in the extras who was trying to make his way past the peanut shell with no luck at all.

I baked some Trader Joe's frozen mini croissants this morning to take to book club. They are delicious and so easy to make. I picked up Helen and we headed to Lynn's house. It was a big group with only one member unable to come. We were in a talkative mood and it was almost an hour before we helped ourselves to a lunch of salads, our usual fare, and settled to eat and say a few words about the book. I so enjoy the ladies in the group. We are all artists and have so much to share even though quite a few of us meet once a week at open studio to paint.

When I got home Arvin and I spent the rest of the day together. Tomorrow we will be going to a fundraising auction for the local Alzheimer's Society of Washington that has been so helpful to both of us during out journey. The theme is 007 and my plan is to dress as M, 007's boss.
