Bonfire time!
Happy Midsummer Night for all of you, blippers!
Hubby left working in the morning. It was a beautiful morning with a huge amount of big droplets after the rain so I photographed some more droplets and added them into my album...
Midsummer is known also as St John's Day, Jussi, Juhannus in finnish. It is a couple of days time centred upon the summer solstice.
I had cut some silver birch tree branches in pots - traditional decoration - and we had a nice dinner me and teens, barbaqued in our garden. A short nap afterwards, relaxing time and late in the evening we made a drive to see some bonfires nearby. Found two - in the blip there is the first bigger one of those at Härmälä, Tampere...
This is an old tradition: Bonfires are burned to be sure that all kind of bad spirits keep away. (Bad spirits can get nervous because of the solstice)
One shot in the extra too, from the light night, as people were having fun and picknicking at almost midnight (23pm) at the beach. Some where swimming and playing beach wolley ...
It has been brilliant warm day +23c or more, Still by the midnight there is +20c, which is great!
