Day 175 of 366 - St. Michael and the Devil!
Today's image was taken late this afternoon outside the New Coventry Cathedral of St. Michael in the city centre of Coventry. The view is of the statue of St. Michael and the Devil. The statues that are cast in Bronze were sculpted by Sir Jacob Epstein. Sadly though he never got to see the statutes mounted as he died in 1959, just before the Cathedral was finished. The statues show the Archangel St. Michael standing in triumph over the defeated body of the Devil.
The photo was taken using the app ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I cropped the image, then I applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I also boosted the saturation, warmth and contrast. Next I used the app ShockMyPic to apply the painterly look to the image while trying not to lose too much detail. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to add the Clarify preset, the Vibrant FX, a small dark vignette and the Canvas texture. I then added the Charcoal frame.
