All The World Is A Stage!

Excitment might be a slight understatement..... For 2 years I have watched with increasing anticipation, the renovations of Melbournes' beloved Hamer Hall. It is home to magical music, dance, theatre, comedy and all things entertainment...and this week during Melbourne's 'open-house' weekend, it has re-opened...

What to blip??? The amazing reflective staircases (oh Jusjerry, the photos you could take!!!), the grand and tacky lightfittings, the amazing auditorium, the quirky furnishings and 'keep you guessing' wall angles...oh the drama; A more reserved blipper would not have flung herself across the floor purely for dramatic effect!!! (Please note, I do not apologise for this, reserved is not really in my repertoire).

Overwhelmed I went next door to the Arts Spire, past the giant sculpture of gladdies (a fitting welcome for our new hall) and strayed downstairs to the costume display - a celebration of Dame Edna Everage and Kylie Minogue. Worlds apart these people have become icons, and their clothing my blip for today.

I love the theatre. In a darkened room I can sit next to the rich, the famous, the young, the old and the beautiful..and together we can laugh, cry, hold back our fears and rapturously applaude performers we will never know, but give their all for us. Bravo, take a bow and know, the world is a better place with you in it! ENCORE!!! ENCORE!!!
