NZ KINGFISHER

Another lucky day on the kingfishers today and then a bonus of catching up with fellow blippers - 'spikes & Gingernan' who had a similar target species in mind.  I wasnt sure which ones to put up so there are a couple of extra's of the NZ Kingfisher.

The closeup(extra) shows the bird with a crab in its beak - most who follow this lovely bird will know they "whack" the legs off the crab by bashing it on the landing perch. - when they have a crab they are more likely to be friendlier as they are so intent on doing the deed of whacking it into shape they take less notice of blippers !!
