#30DaysWild day 23 Flood warning

Following a night of storms it took me 2 hours to drive 9 miles to Plaistow. Although that is nothing compared to the journey our manager did, 5 hours on the A13!

When i arrived at Plaistow just before lunch the rain had stopped and it was hot and humid. I spent the afternoon in the garden with 10 two, three & four year olds. Kitted out in waterproofs they set about experimenting with the rain filled water tray and sand pit, we rescued a snail and a slug from certain death from drowning or crushing in the water tray, we created some butterfly and caterpillar art, we planted some herbs and built a tower as tall as Victoria! (that's pretty tall)

When i got home, after dinner and voting I went for a walk over the fields with my husband. The River Roding has burst its banks and I think I actually found the biggest puddle in the world! and i paddled carefully at the edge but it was too deep and fast flowing to venture too far.
