violet-green swallow

I haven't seen one of these since I was on a field trip with a birding class a few years ago. I doubt they are that rare around here, it is just that I haven't been to their habitat or had them pointed out to me by an expert. 
So I was very excited to see one on our regular morning walk, and to even remember its name!
