Mrs. K's grassland.

There are several unconventional areas in our garden.
This is a bit of Mrs.K's wild flower area. There are three varieties of orchid growing naturally there. They are Common Spotted, Northern Marsh and Tway Blade. The last of these has green flowers.

Before the house was built, fifty years ago, this was a patch of limestone grassland. Next to this wild section is the so called lawn. It is really more of a meadow with plenty of dandelions and daisies. I do mow it but as significant numbers of orchids seed in it I have to wait until these tiny plants have been transplanted to other sites in the garden.

The extra today shows how well the Chicken in the Woods fungus is growing. I blipped it a couple of weeks ago when it was much younger.

Thanks for all the sympathy for my strained achilles tendon. Some ultra sound has helped and in a few more days it should be healed. Unless of course I overdo things which is quite probable.
