The Buxton Memorial

A stone's throw from the Houses of Parliament this memorial commemorates the emancipation of slaves following the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act. It takes its name from the Buxton family; given by Charles Buxton in memory of his father Sir Thomas Fullwell Buxton (an abolitionist).
