Right tool for the job

Slicing potatoes for scalloped potatoes can be a tedious job, especially for meticulous cooks like my husband, who want every slice to be the same. For Father's Day I gave him this mandoline slicer, and today he put it to use, slicing perfectly a casserole dish full of potatoes in about 5 minutes! Given the array of various blades, I see a future with creative veggies - and maybe he'll let me use it to slice those cucumbers for pickles!
