KISS

'Keep It Simple, Stupid!' is a management slogan still in use. There are variations on what the second S stands for. This is the version I know. It was the approach we took when deciding to once more keep a note of our daily steps - €12 a throw measuring steps, distance, time in motion and calories burned. We've decided it's time to get fit again and I have been inspired by the prospect of doing a class at the business school four weeks from now in front of 40 people who work for a leading fitness activity organisation. So, we have a route for a walk which we aim to do at least three times a week. I did read an interesting article that wearing a pedometer and having a daily target can increase stress, lower self-esteem when the target is missed and takes away the pleasure of aimless wandering - one of our favourite pastimes. Maybe we should be more faithful still to the KISS approach and revert to aimless wandering!
