Into the woods

#30DaysWild day 21 #WereAllGoingOnABearHut

After the hustle and bustle of Snowdon it was wonderful to retreat to the peace of Epping Forest with my young companion. We passed only one person walking a dog and were chorused by a variety of woodland birds. We saw bees (Red tailed & Tree bumble bee), squirrels and ducks. We went on a bear hunt through lots of squelchy mud and some wonderfully swishy swashy grass. There is something special about walking through grass that is nearly as tall as you are (I remember). We found some puddles and my companion wondered if we could find the biggest puddle in the world. As we walked through the forest we came to an opening and "Wow" he exclaimed, only the way a 2 year old can "that really is the biggest puddle I the world!" (Known to locals as Strawberry Hill pond). We collected some sticks and a pine cone (which he insists is an acorn) and headed home through some more squelchy mud and swishy swashy grass. When we got home we planted the 'acorn' and helped grandad with his weeding lol Grandad is going to be finding replanted weeds for weeks!
