The First Cut

Yes we have started harvest! Some around have been on for a couple of days. The grain may be hard and relitively dry but the straw is still sappy and unfit, making slower going and poorer samples. We got off to a mid morning start and had the first field cut by 5ish, the combine driver wanted to start another field, we had just got first time around when very heavy shower made the already wet and sappy straw uncuttable ! So this is a phone image uploaded from the comfort of home, a proper meal comsumed, and catching up with GP and Olympics.
