Lunch

I have a book that describes local birding sites that has been useful in finding new parks and wildlife refuges.  Today I decided to try one about 20 minutes from here with meadows, woods and two ponds.  I was so excited about the potential once I arrived that I texted Osuzanna to find out if she was free to join me.  Fortunately she was and we spent a couple of hours walking the mowed trails.  This heron was a favorite.  Unfortunately I didn't have the speed on my camera quite fast enough, but I did manage to capture the bird's lunch.  It is amazing what they can manage to swallow whole.
