A true treat
We were extremely lucky today as we had been invited to Glasgow Airport fire station to have a look around. As you can see we were so close to the aircraft, practically on the taxi way (but not close enough to touch!) , some of the pilots even gave us a wave.
All the kids, including my boys, were able to have a shot of sirens, lights, alarms, hoses, jackets, helments, breathing aparatus..... and so much more, we were there for nearly 3 hours. It was a great day, the fire officers were fab and also gave a demonstration of there cutting equipment, I think this was the only thing the kids weren't allowed to do!! There were also some retired officers visiting as well and it was funny to hear about some of the state of the art equipement of their time, which in one case was WW2 helmet, a leather jacket, wellies and an axe! I had so many great fotos it has taken me ages to pick one. This is one day we won't forget.
Many thanks to Bob and all his officers (and not to forget one lovely wife who helped put on some sandwiches and nibbles as well!)
