Terrapin

I went to a fishing area on the River Stour and was amazed to see this basking terrapin.

I asked a local angler about it and he reported rather furiously, that there were about a dozen in the pond, up to nearly 24 inches long.

The anglers are not allowed to catch them and consequently, they creat havoc with the fish stocks!

Along came four little ducklings and swam so close i thought we were going to have a gruesome moment. Fortunately Mother Duck rushed up to save the day.

The Extra shows the danger they were in until it slipped away into the water.

The a damselfly hitched a lift on its back!
