Cone flower

It has been hot here recently, so we've been going out early to hike.  This morning we walked to the overlook on Rabbit Mountain, near Boulder, Colorado.  The summer flowers haven't yet dried off, as they often have by the time we get here, so the slopes look wonderful.  We've never seen so many yuccas in flower, either.
