COFFEE AND CAKE

A hard cycle ride planned by T again today. He does like a challenge. Rained most of the way round so coffee and cake at Castle Howard was a real must. They were not too happy to welcome two sodden cyclists . . . hehe. I did manage to get right up Bulmer Bank though so I was well chuffed. Must have been that grand sleep last night.
There is a new incumbent at Castle Howard this week as Lord Howard leaves the Estate. I feel really sorry for him as family politics suggest a revolution has removed him after years of grand work to keep the Estate going.
Many local Blippers may already know this but I am not impressed with initial decisions by his brother. There used to be a grand and free car park area overlooking The Grand Lake . . . that is now closed to the General Public. It was one of my fav spots so I am not impressed at all.
