JUST BLUE

Just Blue in the garden !

Eryngium is a group of annuals and perennials with hairless and spiny leaves, with dome-shaped umbels of flowers resembling those of thistles. The common name is Sea-Holly.

I just love the colours - and waited until tonight for the setting sun to try and get the colour right. Not sure if I have done them justice.

The summer flowers are cobalt blue and very attractive to bees. The plant is 30 to 60 cm in height.

The Royal Horticultural Society has given this plant a Garden Merit Award.
