Dearborn Street Bridge

looking up at the rusted railing
above the green water below,
which is flat and reflective this morning,
I think of the workers that riveted 
this iron bridge together.
And, all of the deals made to build 
these sandstone and glass marvels 
set against the backdrop, 
sky-blue and streaked with high clouds.
That steel.... It's all custom.
