Went for a walk along the mighty Nepean River down past the weir to see just how far the water rose in the flood about two weeks back. here

Found this coot  later ID found it a purple swamphen having a good ole time pulling and clawing at the weed probably to make, or get gear for a nest.

If you check the extra out then have a look at this shot on Flickr you will get an idea from the sign just how high the water was. I estimate from the debris up into the trees etc around 4 metres above that railing support in the extra.
