Peony

A very nice day today!

I drove into town this morning on the lookout for a shot but was sure I would get one this afternoon.

Our village was running a charity Open Gardens event to raise money for Blood Bikes. Well, I love gardens anyway and I know the gentleman who was coming, with his bike, in acknowledgement of our event.

All of the gardens open today revealed hidden corners, nice planting and private seating that couldn't be seen from the pavement. I loved walking round them.

I've never grown peonies, I always felt they would get battered by wind and rain in my garden. I suppose they do, everywhere, but this one was looking at it's best before the rain came down.
