Heritage Site

Spent a lovely day bird watching in the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, SE of Johannesburg.
The reserve includes the Diepkloof Farm Museum, and the picture shows the original farm homestead on the right, and the wagon shed/barn.
The farm was established in the 1850's, by the Marais family, and is a declared Provincial Heritage Site.

We recorded 55 species, including some very nice to see birds:- Rock Kestrel, White-backed Mousebird, Fairy Flycatcher, Capped Wheatear and African Snipe
