'Appy Birthday, Alice!

Probably our fullest day since we arrived in Portugal...

Ex-colleagues from Brazil for lunch. Two Dutch lads staying with us. Then driving out to Foros de Arrão for Alice's 3rd birthday - quite an experience - the adults, under the stars, mainly drinking and eating lots of good food; the girls making cakes out of dirt - totally filthy - until called up for us all to sing Happy Birthday to her, at which point everyone smeared bits of icing on the kids' noses...

Then back for a concert in Mora. Imagine a small village square, an almost full moon overhead, a group of young guitar players (extra), folk on chairs or the church's steps, an illuminated cross above; kids racing round...

And home to try to choose just one photo...
