Coot in distress

Downpours and severe thunderstorms lasting  approximately twenty minutes each time, interspersed with short periods of calmer weather, lasting at best half an hour.
The river is high again, brown and fast running.
This coot sought salvation in a tuft of green.
Before he had managed to get out of the wave pool, I heard him croak very loudly. It looks like a very stressed time for coots.
