Les-Baux-de-Provence
The holiday had a lot more historic sites than we imagined, but it's amazing what you can do with strategic naps and an antiquarian in training.
Travelling south, apparently just behind the big rain, and we caught up with it just as we parked. The raincoats were ceremoniously unpacked, but the shower was so heavy that we had to duck into the first restaurant for lunch, It was delicious, and who would have thought that a nearly-two-year old would like duck?
Then the rain stopped just in time, and off we went up to the amazing castle (the extra is the castle with a bit of the view). By that time it was hot and sunny again and the cavey bits of castle provided some shelter.
And onwards to the airport hotel, but not too early given we knew it wouldn't be exciting. So close to the airport that I went there to get some food for dinner on the way back from leaving the car back.
