Life's Little Moments

Try to look inconspicuous!

Another totally fun day starting with a full morning at the rookery at St Augustine.  Lots of wood storks, cattle egrets, little blue herons, snowy egrets and tri-color herons still tending eggs/nestlings.  And quite a few fledgling birds taking wild flights around the rookery looking like crazed kamikaze pilots.

After lunch we headed to Gainesville and Sweetwater Wetlands where I got my best-ever shots of a Least Bittern.  Then around the corner to Maura's (Gaia's Child) lovely home followed by dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.  An hour's drive back to Ocala, a much needed shower, and then ...time to blip...

I took about 900 pics and even after deleting 300 in-camera, it was still an impossible choice.  So I randomly selected this shot of two tri-color heron nestlings.  With their fuzzy 'dos and gawky looks, they are ridiculously cute.

Once I'm home and have sorted through everything, I'll post some additional shots on Fliclr.  In the meantime, I'll try to post the Bittern in Extra.

And now, this Blipper is heading to bed!
