Vatnajökull glacier

Today we teamed up with our old guide friend Einar Sigurdsson and skied across a tiny 10km portion of the massive Vatnajökull ice cap. The weather was really hot and sunny - double doses of solar exposure from the sun overhead and the reflection off the ice. Fantastic views off a teetering pinnacle back down to the sea 1300m below us (see extra). A big thanks to Einar for providing the gear and the transport up to the glacier edge. It was another magical day in Iceland to remember.

The extras show the view off the 1300m pinnacle into a deep valley that cuts into the glacier from the sea to the south.
