Swan Lake

We decided to go the bird lake to check water levels, wildlife and the general state of things since we hadn't been there for a while. I was very excited because some very intriguing smells were coming from the shallow waters.

It seemed all the swans had retreated to the small islands and the more remote areas of the lake. Some probably already had tiny cygnets, others were just days away from it. We stayed well away from them. Never mess with an animal with young.

I did get to paddle a bit and even considered jumping in after a stick. I didn't in the end, which was good because it would have earned me a bath and nearly did anyway after I had messed around in muck and swan poo. I was just having a bit of fun...
