Only the brave

As I went for a swim today a fire engine screamed up to the pool building, full blue lights and sirens job.  The pool had sprung a leak and the fire alarms had gone off.  Pool closed, no swim for me.  Wished I had my camera to capture the handsome uniformed chaps.

No worry, later in the day when I did have my camera,  another drama on the next corner.  Indian restaurant ablaze, fire crew in action again.  

When I saw that the chap with the jack-hammer was about to dig up the gas mains I suddenly felt unsafe despite the cordon and left the scene.  Extra pics reveal that they're not all CHAPS … all brave though.  Hats off to them.  All in a day's work.
