Holy cow!

No, you haven't slipped into a 1970s episode of Batman, I just thought it was an appropriate way to describe my drive to and from work. This girl really was only going to move for me, when it suited her.

I had a similar thing this morning on my drive in. The cow was laying down half in the road, with legs sprawled out. I had to edge on to the grass, carefully missing other members of her herd. I blame her for me missing my bus by seconds!

Work was interesting, and I worked hard on making my new glasses work for me. They were definitely better than yesterday, so I'm getting there.

At lunchtime I had some very good news. Following an internal interview yesterday for a job in one of the Pensions Admin teams, (a sideways move) I was told I had been successful! I hadn't been feeling overly confident, so was very pleased and a little surprised. I suppose last night I went over the interview in my head, overthinking it. It is with mixed feelings that I will be leaving the lovely people in the payroll team. They gave me a chance one year ago, and believed in me. I hope I lived up to their expectations. If it wasn't for my need to stretch myself, and get back into proper pensions work, I would be happy to continue with payroll (although I won't miss the prospect of post & scanning daily). It certainly has been useful and interesting, and I hope will help me going forward. An understanding of how another team works, is always useful, and I hope to use it in a positive way. So thankyou Paul, Shenda, Sandra & James for allowing me to be part of a great team this last year.

Once Daisy, Bluebell or whatever her name is, had let me past, I got in about 6. Mollie had cooked spag bol for dinner, and I accidentally watched the end of the football match. I feel the need to confess, although I had no choice, other than to eat my dinner with my eyes shut.

I'm going to do a bit of sewing now. And will allow myself to enjoy a feeling of positivity.... for a change
