Front door

The door to my apartment block. It's an older, poorer area with many Kurds and gypsies and now artists, students and a few foreigners. It's an Ottoman Liberty style building and the area had mainly Greek immigrants til the 1950's.

You can now see the area slowly being developed in parts but there's lots of old locals in simple cafes and tiny local shops.

It's very close to Istiklal Street, one of the main shopping streets in Downtown Istanbul.
