Friday: And Here We Go!

To mark the opening ceremony for London 2012 we organised a public showing of the event in the main square in Zadar, on the coast.

I have to say it came off brilliantly! The city authorities in Zadar were delighted that we had asked whether we could do it here and really helped us a lot. The square was heaving with people all throughout the ceremony which was all we could have hoped for. The atmosphere was amazing, particularly as the setting is so lovely, set against the sea and with Roman ruins in the square.

Wenlock, our mascot, sat on the stage throughout and did us proud.

Qualitatively, this is a pretty poor photo but it does sun up what was a brilliant night.
