Plockton
Our first day began dry - for which we probably ought to have been more grateful than we were at the time, considering what it did for the rest of our stay! We had a morning walk above the village with some fine views of the mainland and also Skye. Later in the morning and the afternoon we walked along the shore to Duncraig Castle, a Victorian pile, currently being refurbished to become bed and breakfast accomodation. We unanimously agreed that it was better from a distance than close to. The rain started late morning and didn't stop, so we were glad to find a wood store to have lunch in.
The extra photos are of some of Plockton's palm trees (it has a very mild climate because of the Gulf Stream) and of the bay in the evening when the sea was almost like glass - and it wasn't raining!
