An excursion

Today was John's birthday. To celebrate we went to one of our favorite haunts, Dallas Mountain Road in Washington. It is east of the Cascade mountains where sun is more likely to shine. The wildflowers are mostly done blooming, the Meadowlarks are still there singing, it was sunny, and very windy, which made it kind of cool to hike on the hillsides. Altogether a lovely day.
On the way home we drove through torrential rain for a time. The extra shot is from the car, as we sped by the peeking sun..
