A seriously Black Eye

Big Butterfly Count entry made today after a morning stroll in the Meadow at Whitlingham Park, Norwich. A cool start meant that many species were still warming up when I got there. Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Small copper, Large Skipper, all nearly made it here but I will leave the butterfly pic to the maestro angellighhtphoto.

Instead here we have a Six Spot Burnet moth ..... with a cracking black eye to go with his warm black coat. No surprise that these well insulated guys were already very active and in great numbers too.

Now back to the brilliant Olympic Opening Ceremony ... oh, and packing for tomorrows hols!
