Trains, and Boats and Planes (nearly)

Trains, buses and tubes then....

I was intrigued by the cloud in the sky while waiting for my train home at West Hampstead this evening, from the spots in the air it was bringing some rain in. While looking the 2 trains on the left came into the station at the same time, so I couldn't resist waiting for a couple of trains to go through on the other lines and then one on the Overground in the distance and compositing them all together to make a very busy looking station.

Once on the train I didn't get very far - it came to a halt as someone was "train surfing", which is how they now describe someone grabbing a lift on the back of a goods train.

I, for one, was grateful for the rotten weather (it did chuck it down with rain while waiting), as the power to the line was switched off for safety reasons, so there was no air-conditioning, and in a carriage where you can't open any windows, it got uncomfortable towards the end, it would have been unbearable if it had been sunny.

One pompous oaf very loudly declared how they were doing it all wrong, shouldn't have stopped the trains, or switched the power off and just left the person to their fate, with no regard for the safety of the police and railway staff, or the effect on a train driver if he had hit the person.
