New Kid On The Block

This is a Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera).    My daughter, who is getting to be quite an expert in spotting interesting things, saw him swimming by. He was quite a spectacular site with the bright sun highlighting his gorgeous color.  He's not uncommon in our area but this was the first time we'd seen one.  He might have been able to sneak by if the sun hadn't hit him just right.  Hard to miss (not for me) something as bright red as he was.  Beautiful fellow.
