Very busy day*, but here is a flower...

edit: * I started by going to a friends to collect some rhubarb. They said they had loads this year but when we went previously there was hardly any - today it looked quite different and there was enough rhubarb to sink a battleship!

My next task was to mow the rear lawn after it had some time to dry off in the weak sun and wind. I set the mower on a higher setting and was able to cut the lawn to an acceptable level.

I wanted to go to the bike shop to get some stuff with my 15-year award from work, but it was only partly in stock so we decided to postpone that trip.

We did go to the recycling centre to get rid of accumulated garden waste that we can't compost, an old car battery and assorted rubbish that isn't freecycleable.

Next up was the grocery shopping, mostly sugar for the jam to be made from the rhubarb (7 kg of fairtrade), along with heavy stuff as we had the car, so bread flour and such.

In town we went out for dinner, which was okay but the veggie burger my better half didn't work so good. I'm glad I didn't have one. Finally after dinner we went to see Grimethorpe Colliery Band, who were very good and we bought one of their CDs as well.
