Krýsuvík
While we were in South Africa, we bought a new car, which was really nice. Ever since we came back to Iceland, we were looking for reasons to get a new car here, our jeepling was already 14 years old and the electric car can only do 80 km before it needs charging, so we decided we need to find something to replace both of them, a hybrid jeep type of vehicle. We found one, a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and got it yesterday, so we decided to take a trip today to go and see the hot pools at Krýsuvík. We have not been there for years, there were so many people and a tour bus.
I recently read a book about deaths in Yellowstone National Park in the USA, and a number of people have died there over the years after falling or jumping into the boiling water. I do not know how many have died here, I must admit that even though I can see the water or the mud is boiling, I still wonder if it is really that hot!
