Ratagan

I managed another two munros today (I can't remember their names right now but they were the two south east of dalwhinnie. It really shouldn't have been a hard walk - only 700m of ascent and a 5-6 hour walk time. However, the wind was in my face the whole way up and visibility was about 5m (you could see nothing!)

I soon lost the path and had to nav the whole way up both with a compass and map. The first one was fine but the second one I ignored my instinct and followed the marked road - it turns out that the marked road was off to the left and this was a new road not on the map! I managed to work out where I was pretty quickly and go from there, but it was a much more exhausting day than expected due to detours and constant navigation.

I then headed over to Fort William for a food shop and then up to Ratagan where I am staying in a youth hostel for the next two nights. Bliss! This is the view from the front door :)

I am having a bit of a dilemma though as I'm just not enjoying bad weather walks that much anymore. I've walked in all the extremes (except cold/snow) and it's enjoyable as a challenge, but all I want to do right now is explore and relax rather than climb the biggest hills in bad weather conditions. I don't know if this is a good thing or not! Tomorrow I am either going to do one Munro or just go on a chilled and easy walk instead. I'll see how I feel in the morning and how the weather is looking :)
