Solace: Day 6

Buying into a boat-share this year meant that we had to take that particular owner's booking which turned out to be July rather than our usual September choice. I was worried that this would mean the canal would be crowded, locks would have endless queues to use them and night moorings would find us fender to fender with other holidaymakers along the canal.

Not so! Ours is the boat in the foreground and the one behind us is the closest we were to anyone else when moored.

We like peace and quiet, even when the clouds look threatening.
