The Red Arrows visit Edinburgh

I am sure there will be a few more better than like this!
As part of the opening ceremonies for the Olympic games, the Red Arrows staged a fly-past over Edinburgh before zipping across to do the same in Belfast about a half-hour later. (Edinburgh to Belfast in 30 minutes! Should Ryanair be worried?)
We did not particularly want to go right into Edinburgh so took ourselves over to a wee road overlooking the airport. Ok, this photo is just a tiny bit fuzzy. These planes were whipping along at 400 mph+ by my reckoning and we were still a fair distance away and this was the best the old 300mm lens could manage. It was either this or an old Hercules transport which lifted off from Edinburgh airport about 20 minutes before the Red Arrows showed up.
Enjoy tonights ceremonials and have a great weekend blippers all.
