Gasparilla Island

Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island is about an hour south of us, on the west coast of Florida. It is so beautiful and laid back here. We have returned here to celebrate 11 years of marriage! (We also visited here for our 10th Anniversary, I'm sure there's a blip!)

For both Steve and I, this is a second marriage. Because we are both stubborn & opinionated, well we sometimes struggle - can you imagine? It's true! We are lovebirds as most people think, but we truthfully also have our snags. So this definitely feels like a celebration for us and we are enjoying it! We made it 11 years :0).

Tonight we had a delicious dinner at the South Beach restaurant where we could look out at the beach, take photos, enjoy the sunset and good food all at once. And get this, while I was taking a panoramic photo of the beach, a man and his 4 grown sons were sitting in lounge chairs, enjoying the sunset & a beer. They had been out fishing together. They asked me, as I walked by, could I take their picture? Of course I obliged! We chatted a bit. Then later, when Steve and I were enjoying dinner, our waitress came over with a round of drinks for us . . . from the same man! -with a message of how nice it was I took their photo and happy anniversary! Wow.
I am beaming and it's not just from the extra glass of wine!!
